My name is C.M. Walker and I’m addicted to fictional characters.
I’ve always been drawn to the characters in books; they’re more like friends than imaginary people.
Fudge and Peter. Ramona Quimby.
Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield. Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Dawn.
Cathy and Chris Dollanganger. Heaven Casteel.
Reading has always been a part of my life. I still miss the hundreds of books lined up so neatly on the shelves — all of my Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley books placed in order, of course. In high school, I wrote fan fiction (Flowers in the Attic, mostly) before I even knew there was a term for it.
Then came college, and a career, and marriage, and kids. It seemed the only books I read anymore were non-fiction. I picked up a couple fiction books here and there, but never connected with the characters…
…until I re-discovered Young Adult fiction in my 30s.
I found my joy in writing again through fan fiction. When a threesome fic intrigued me, I had no idea it would be the beginning of something big. Just a few chapters in, I wished the girl would go away and leave the boys to play. I sought out more slash fic, which eventually lead me to M/M Romance.
Hellllo Jake and Adrien.
I still love Young Adult fiction, both to read and write, but when I want a sexy adult read, it’s M/M Romance all the way. Two men are so much better than one.
When I’m not reading or writing, I’m either next to a bright light cross-stitching with fancy thread, at the computer digi-scrapping, or at the sewing machine making cute clothes for my daughter.
